Stilettos (Part 1 of 2)

These are some images of what some would call "femme fatale footwear." During the 1930s a phrase was coined for a particular article of women's footwear – the high heel shoe. They were called "stiletto heels" after the bladed weapon called a stiletto dagger. The stiletto heeled shoe has a long, thin and usually very high heel that ranges in length from 1 inch to as high as 10 inches if placed on a platform. Stilettos give the optical illusion of a longer, slimmer leg, a smaller foot, and a greater overall height. Stilettos also alter the wearer's posture and gait, flexing the calf muscles, and making the bust and buttocks more prominent. Thanks for visiting and please come back often!
