Photo Series: Battleships on the Prairie

c>log
These images, shot on film in 1993, were rescued from some damaged 35mm negatives. The grain elevators are located on the prairies of North Central Oklahoma near Enid. These are not your average silos – they are immense in size and scale. One must really see them to believe how big they really are. The flat prairie landscape only serves to emphasize the grand scale of the grain elevators and make them look even larger. This is why I call them "Battleships on the Prairie". They are truly as large as a battleship. Thanks for visiting and please come back often.
