Photo Series: Elephant Guzzle

c>log
Elephants are the largest land animals now living. At birth it is common for an elephant calf to weigh 260 pounds. African Elephants average up to 15,000 pounds for the males, and up to 8,000 pounds for the females. When something this large gets thirsty on a hot summer day, a simple drink of water will just not do and an elephant guzzle is in order. That is just what the subject of this photo series did – guzzle. I also think this elephant knew its photograph was being taken. Please note that these images are presented at full-frame with no cropping. Thanks for visiting and please come back often!
