The Concept Of Style

c>log
Style can be defined as a characteristic manner of presentation in any art form. The word can refer to to the elements of flexibility that shapes each type of art work to its function. You are able to distinguish between the styles of writers who write novels and the styles of different artists or musicians.

The word style may also point to the creator's personal manner of expression – the qualities that set one artist apart from the others. So, we speak of Picasso's style or Kandinsky's style etc. In a much broader cultural sense, style is often identified with a national culture. And, we speak in terms of Italian style or French style etc. It is the difference in the treatment of the elements of art that make one work of art different from another work of art.
