The Pretenders, one of our favorite bands, will release their 9th album and the first in six years called Break Up The Concrete. The release date is scheduled for October 7th and you can pre-order the album on iTunes. The iTunes edition of Break Up The Concrete will contain two bonus tracks and those pre-ordering the album on iTunes will receive a bonus track as well.

The band's press information calls Break Up The Concrete a "roots album" and Chrissie Hynde will be fronting for a completely new group of musicians. This means Chrissie is sadly the only original member of the group left. The early word from some warm-up gigs is that the new lineup has the attitude and musicianship required to present The Pretenders as we best remember them.
