American Idol Bans Stage Dad

c>log
Because of his incessant backstage meddling, David Archuleta's notorious stage dad, Jeff Archuleta, was unceremoniously banned from any more of David's "American Idol" rehearsals. The producers of "American Idol" have become more and more concerned about this unfair stage parent behavior by Jeff Archuleta as the final round of the show approaches.

Sources claim that what pushed producers over the edge was a lyric change made by Stage Dad Jeff Archuleta. Despite being warned, Stage Dad Jeff Archuleta absolutely insisted on altering the lyrics to the song “Stand By Me,” which David sang last week, by adding a verse from the Sean Kingston song “Beautiful Girls.” That lyric change meant “American Idol” had to pay additional fees and royalties for the extra song. Fox network or the show's producers would not comment, and predictably Stage Dad Jeff Archuleta could not be reached either (his phone was no longer in service).

But this is not a first time offense for Stage Dad Jeff Archuleta – there are countless reports of him exhibiting similar behavior on the “Star Search” set when David was a contestant. Jeff Archuleta, Stage Dad from Hell, was even accused of harassing David's "Star Search" rival, Tiffany Evans, and it has been said that he even tried to coerce Tiffany into drinking milk before a performance in order to affect (ruin) her voice for the night. She didn't listen to Stage Dad from Hell and she went on to win the competition fair and square.
