Dawn Wells, who starred as Mary Ann on the television show "Gilligans Island" was busted for marijuana during a recent traffic stop in Idaho. She had been swerving as she was driving and was pulled over by a police officer to investigate. When asked about the smell of marijuana in her automobile, she claimed she had picked up three hitchhikers and they lit a funny smelling cigarette in her car. The police found half-smoked joints and two small cases containing the substance.


If you will recall, Dawn's co-star on Gilligans' Island, Bob Denver (Gilligan), was arrested in 1998 after he signed for a FedEx delivery that contained 30 grams of marijuana. The arrest gave birth to the now famous "Free Gilligan" movement.

     We may now know why it took the castaways so long to leave their tropical island paradise.
