Britney: They're coming to take me away, Ha Ha

c>log
The ever-troubled former pop star Britney Spears was in hospital today after adding a totally new psychotic chapter to her storied and whacked-out celebrity life.

The 26-year-old former singer had to be taken from her Los Angeles home by ambulance after police were called to a stand-off between her and ex-husband Kevin Federline over custody of her sons. A judge limited her access to her children in October after he said she was a "habitual, frequent, and continuous" user of "controlled substances and alcohol."

Spears finally handed over the boys Sean Preston and Jayden James after three crazy hours during which six police cars, two ambulances and a fire engine were sent to the gated community where she lives. Television footage showed Spears being carried away on a gurney. Spears's youngest son, Jayden Federline, was also taken to the hospital in an ambulance, but carried inside by a police officer.

Spears was under the influence of an unknown substance and was taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Centre and admitted to the psycho ward, but a spokeswoman there refused to comment on her condition. Spears was admitted to the hospital for a "medical hold," which is described as a mental evaluation, and drug testing.

They're coming to take me away, HA HA
They're coming to take me away, HO HO HEE HEE HA HA
To the funny farm
Where life is beautiful all the time
And I'll be happy to see
Those nice, young men
In their clean, white coats
And they're coming to take me away, Ha-haaa!

You know you laughed, I heard you laugh
You laughed, you laughed and laughed
And then you left
But now you know I'm utterly mad!
